HLC Aviation

Partner to the aerospace industry

HLC Aviation has been supplying the Airbus plants in Hamburg, Stade, and Bremen with consumables for nearly 30 years now. Over the years, this OEM has been complemented by a large numbers of suppliers, MROs and airlines. In addition to all standard consumables, HLC Aviation supplies its customers with production materials in accordance with the EN 9120 standard. The product portfolio ranges from tapes and adhesives to stencils, markings, and abrasives, as well as personal protective equipment and individual component protection features.
“We provide service on-site with our technical expertise and act as a neutral interface between the customer and the manufacturers whose products we distribute,” says CEO Hans Brüchert. Along with its experience in the aerospace sector, customers also appreciate HLC Aviation’s flexibility and short response times. HLC Aviation supplies products from a large number of well-known manufacturers as a single source supplier. The company’s comprehensive, individually adaptable logistics concept, which is aligned with the Kanban system, has also proven particularly successful. “We deliver directly to the workplace and manage the customer’s entire ordering and storage process,” says Head of Sales René Bouchard. “This process creates time for our customers to focus fully on the production or maintenance of their products.”
HLC Aviation’s decades-long partnership with Airbus and a major German airline has led various suppliers, MROs, and airlines to put their trust in the experience of HLC Aviation and its employees. “Trust is very important,” Hans Brüchert explains. “During the consultation process, customers expect fast and reliable solutions of the highest quality.”

WHAT ARE THE SPECIFIC CONDITIONS THAT GOVERN BUSINESS OPERATIONS IN THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY IN YOUR OPINION?

Due to safety reasons the technical requirements for consumables and production materials are very complex. Both products and suppliers are therefore subject to what are in some cases very stringent requirements. Because our employees have many years of experience, we are very familiar with the requirements demanded of and by our customers. Production bottlenecks caused by the nonavailability of C-parts, or even downtime, result in very high costs. In order to prevent this, we offer our customers a sophisticated Kanban system tailored to their individual requirements. Short delivery times, AOG deliveries, and individual order quantities safeguard processes and help overcome all types of bottlenecks.

You have been working in the aerospace industry for many years now. Are there any events of importance which you can tell us about?

During an ergonomics project for our customer Airbus, we produced customized foam mats as support and assembly aids for the A320. This application required us to climb into the plane’s wing tanks, which was a harrowing but also special experience. Now, every time I see the tanker truck when I’m flying, I look back fondly on that experience.
