Being close to the customer

Account Manager Aude Sarfati is now representing HLC Aviation in Toulouse   Even more important than Hamburg, Toulouse has the largest concentration of aerospace business in Europe. "Of course we want to supply our customers locally," CEO Hans Brüchert points out. This role is now being taken over by our new Account Manager Aude Sarfati. Maintaining and expanding the network "I am really excited about getting to know HLC Aviation´s customers in Toulouse," explains Aude Sarfati. "And I'm happy about having the opportunity to explain to those who are not yet working with HLC Aviation how they can benefit from our...

Goal: reducing air resistance

A consortium of 40 industry and research partners tested an innovative system for reducing aircraft drag   How can the fuel consumption of aircraft be reduced? In addition to reducing the weight of the aircraft, reducing aircraft drag is one possibility. The AFLoNext project (Active Flow Loads & Noise Control on Next Generation Wing), in which 40 partners from 15 countries are conducting research with Airbus as the coordinator and with significant involvement from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), takes a particular approach. Potential for savings of up to nine percent Hybrid laminarisation is the magic word. Tiny holes are drilled...

Customized Flap-Protection for Airbus Single Aisle

HLC Aviation has created a reusable protection system for flaps which can withstand scratches, dents and other deformations caused by dropped tools or impacts during the assembly process.   Falling objects and impacts are often a problem in the assembly process and the relatively thin flaps can be easily damaged. In particular, so-called FODs (Falling Object Damages) occur regularly while working on the wings or on the fuselage of the A320-Family. Therefore the goal of HLC Aviation was to develop a solution for the Airbus Single Aisle, which can withstand scratches, denting and other deformations. Furthermore, it is necessary to...

Closed cooling chain

Using dry ice and its own cooling chamber, HLC Aviation can now also supply adhesives that set at room temperature   Textured adhesive films provide a solid and secure connection between assembled aircraft components and can often replace the use of decidedly heavier rivets. Adhesive films such as 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ AF 163-2K WT.06, for example, are suitable for metal-on-metal bonding or, more frequently, for bonding composites. A challenge to the delivery and handling of these films is that they set and harden at room temperature. In these situations, what is required in logistics, is a closed cooling chain. Temperature monitored...
